Dear Church Family,

Greetings from the Youth Ministry Office!

Let me first begin by thanking all of you for making me feel so welcome. Saint Robert's has become like a new family for me and I am very excited about this new adventure that awaits our family. I would also like to thank those who have worked so hard to help me in my transition to becoming Youth Minister at St. Robert's.

I have never been an "official" Youth Minister, but I have done extensive work in Campus Ministry, Counseling and Liturgy Planning at Archbishop Riordan High School and Chaminade University of Honolulu. So these areas of Ministry are not totally foreign to me.

Diana Landin and everyone else who has worked with Teen Club will continue to be with us. They are an invaluable asset to the team and I am very blessed to have such support.

So you may ask, what now? I continue to meet with the Youth Ministry Core Team, which is comprised of very dedicated adults and teens. I have also met with our Teen Club and I can tell we will have a very strong year based on the wonderful teens I met.

This weekend, Father Tom will be preaching at all the masses and teens from Teen Club will be involved in a pantomime type skit. I will be at every Mass and look forward to meeting as many of you as I can and answering any questions you might have. On the first and third Sunday of the month the Teen Club will present a special Youth Mass at the 5 p.m. evening liturgy with a social following. The Mass is geared toward high School students, but all are welcome. Our first Mass will be October 19th. I hope to see as many of you there as possible!

In closing I would like to invite you all to either drop me an e-mail JuanSantos@SaintRoberts.org, give me a call at (650) 255-0791 or visit the Teen Room. The door is always open to anyone who wants to drop in and say hello. I am generally in the room Tuesday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., but am more than willing to come at another time.

Finally, we are in need of volunteers and I would greatly appreciate your gift of service.

I hope to meet as many of you as possible in the near future and I pray that God will bless you all.

Juan Santos
