the birth of your baby, contact Deacon Rusty
Duffey. She will meet with you and schedule you to
attend the one and a half hour required class. Join
us in an informal setting, meet other new parents

this commitment is also important. There are many

BLESSING
OF THE ANIMALS
In
commemoration of the Feast of St. Francis of
Assisi, we bring our treasured pets to be blessed.
St. Francis called all animals his brothers and
sisters. We gather in the parking lot between the
church and the school. Treats are provided for man
and beast alike. Join us and bring all your
creatures great and small. This event is sponsored
by the Children's
Liturgy Team.

CHILDREN'S
LITURGY OF THE WORD
Children's
Liturgy is a program at the 9:30am Sunday Mass
where the children are blessed and then excused at
the beginning of Mass, they return to their
parent(s) during the collection. We have two
Liturgies appropriate for the children: "Little
Church" for age 3 through 1st grade and "Middle
Church" for 2nd to 5th graders. It is here where
the children listen to the Sunday's Gospel. The
Gospel is shared and then discussed with the
children as to how it may be applied to their lives
during the week. In addition to this, the children
are invited by the priest to gather around the
alter during the consecration. The Children's
Liturgy Team sponsors Blessing
of the Animals.
We
hope you can come join us at the 9:30am Mass every
Sunday. *Note: the last Sunday of the month is a
Family Mass and the children stay in church with
you to celebrate Mass as a family.

"FRIENDS HELPING FRIENDS"
In
May 2008 a group of parishioners came to Father
Bruce with an idea. Occasionally there are families
who, because of sickness, family emergencies or
other things, are in need. We formed a new fund
which we call Friends Helping Friends.
In May 2008, we held our first fund raiser dinner
and Bunko tournament. Thanks to the dedication and
hard work we raised $9,188. This fund is designated
to help families who are experiencing hardship in
their lives. Gifts can be made to the fund at
any time. We anticipate a couple of fund
raisers a year to maintain this fund. This fund
arose from a specific need and, in the tradition of
care at Saint Roberts, the response was
overwhelming.
