Attendees:

Yvonne Olcemendy, Caroline Uniacke, Terri Murray, Jim Shick , Ray Fucini, John Grealish and Pat Cotroneo
Absent: Father Bruce and John Marty

.

Action Items:

  • After receiving several quotes on repairing/replacing the bell system, the board recommends that Yvonne move forward with replacing the bell system.
  • Recently a student was scraped coming down the slide on the new play structure in the upper yard. Yvonne will contact the manufacturer to get the slide repaired.

Guests:

Theresa Chase

Guests Issue:

  • Theresa gave an interesting and informative presentation on an art program called "Art in Action". The program teaches art appreciation, art history and art production. Teachers and volunteers run the program. The cost of introducing the program was a concern, as was the additional burden on an already packed curriculum. All agreed that more information was needed and suggested that the program may be better suited to an after school program.

Guest Issues:

None

Old Business:

  • The new school brochure is an on going project.
  • Yvonne met with Simply Uniforms regarding the embroidered sweatshirt. There would be a $200 set up fee and an increase of $5 to the cost of the sweatshirt. The supplier did recommend that we notify parents that the existing sweatshirts need to be washed in side out to preserve the school emblem. All agreed that due to the cost factor we would stay with the existing sweatshirt.
  • Evaluation of the Facts Tuition Program continues. Reducing the 10- day cash turn around is a priority.
  • Father Bruce continues to research the possibility of obtaining a booth at Pac Bell Park. This would be a major fund raiser for the parish

New Business:

  • Yvonne is working on setting up a "Positive coaching alliance" program. All coaches and parents of students who play on school teams will be mandated to attend. The board agrees that positive reinforcement would be a benefit to the students & coaches.
