Guest Issues:
|
- Francesca Amezquita brought to our
attention a security concern of the new
Kindergarten building. The open driveway allows
anyone to enter the school property & access
the kindergarten playground & building. In
addition it gives the young children easy access
to Oak. All agreed this is a concern. The school
board submitted a letter to Father Ring with our
concerns on this matter.
- Francesca Amezquita inquired about the
curriculum for each grade. She tried
unsuccessfully to access this information on the
web site. Mrs. Bordin showed her the current
school year curriculum handouts that are
available at the beginning of the school year
& explained that these are handed out at
back to school night.
- Maureen Mitchell inquired whether there
were any plans to introduce a second language to
the lower grades. Mrs. Bordin addressed the
issue explaining that currently there were not
enough school minutes or funds to introduce a
new subject.
- Maureen Mitchell inquired what the
schools policy is on yard duty parents playing
with the students. Mrs. Bordin addressed the
issue saying that the yard duty parent should
only intervene with the student when necessary,
as the primary function is to keep a watchful
eye on the yard. Playing with the children would
only distract them from this duty.
