Attendees:

Pat Bordin, John Compton, Mike Mc Guigan, Terri Murray, Maureen Wallace, David Harders, John Marty, Caroline Uniacke - Absent: Father Ring

Action Items:

  • Maureen Wallace to follow up with George Horton on submitting a bid to the school for handrails in middle yard.
  • Caroline Uniacke to contact Steve Bulluomini to get information on sport web sites that could added to the school website.
  • Terri Murray to start a parent survey on the boys slacks via the Wednesday envelope.
  • Mrs. Bordin to get with the PE teacher regarding back strengthening exercises for students.

Guest Issues:

  • Donna Mc Guigan wrote in with a few suggestions to lighten the weight of the backpacks. She also included an article from " Your Childs Health". Mrs. Bordin stated that the majority of the students are dropped off and picked up by car each day. A short- term solution to the problem would be two trips to the car. Although book publishers are working on making books lighter etc, it will be several years before they are available.
  • Barbara Mitchell wrote in requesting that the 8th grade parents get reserved front seats at the Dinner/Dance Auction. This was not considered a school board issue. and will be forwarded on to Patty Ciraulo at the Women's Guild.

Old Business:

  • After School Programs: Father Ring would like to start with a homework club in conjunction with Extended Care.
  • Terri Murray is working with Gary DeMartini on updating the website.

.

New Business:

  • Terri Murray brought up the safety issue of parking at dismissal time. Parents continue to park behind the cones. Cones with chain links were suggested.
  • The departure of the 7th grade teacher was addressed. Mrs. Bordin stated that the teacher left for personal and professional reasons.
