Minutes were approved in May.

Attendees:

Pat Bordin, John Compton, Mike Mc Guigan, Terri Murray, Maureen Wallace, David Harders, John Marty, Caroline Uniacke - Absent: Father Ring

Action Items:

  • Dave Harders to research the safety issues of the hand rails in middle yard.
  • Terri Murray to contact Gary DeMartini regarding updating the school Web site.
  • Maureen Wallace & Kathy Lynch to gather information on After School Programs, in and around the area.
  • Maureen Wallace to reinstate the uniform exchange program. Action date January 2003.

Guest Issues:

Annetta Giambruno wrote in and asked why water bottles were not allowed in the classrooms. Mrs. Bordin explained that the bottles tend to spill and cause a distraction in class.

Old Business:

  • Members of the school board met off site on 9/12/2002 to discuss and get a clear understanding of their school board responsibilities.

.

New Business:

  • Mrs Bordin clarified for the board that the school cap is 35 children per class. The pastor has the authority to increase that number due to special circumstances.
  • Grades1-2 now have recess the last 15 minutes of the school day. The teacher's are trying this time frame to avoid breaking the attention span.
  • Mrs. Bordin will allow rolling backpacks to children who provide a doctors note. These children will have to leave the school through a separate exit from the rest of the school and be met by parent or guardian.
  • First aid kits for yard duty have arrived. They are available at the office.
  • The durability of the boy's slacks was discussed. Mrs Bordin advised that the first step to changing the school uniform is a parent survey.
