(During Fr. Ring’s recovery, the members of the parish staff will be writing the pastoral letter. Today’s letter is from Virginia Yanke)

Dear Parishioners:

This week it is my turn to write a message in the Sunday bulletin. So here goes. I’ll bet that you will be surprised to hear that I’m going to talk about our wonderful Parish.

St. Robert’s is alive and well. And that is all because of all of you. Every month I meet with the Parish Leaders at the Parish Planning Committee (formerly called Life and Growth). I am amazed at all the happenings here at St. Robert’s. This Parish is vibrant and alive with activities; both spiritual and social.

Are you one that likes to help others; then St. Vincent de Paul is a group for you. Are you the social type; then join the Men’s Club, the Women’s Guild, or the Fil-Am Group (all of these groups are Parish organizations, not just school organizations); come and take a peak during 9 a.m. Mass and see what Children’s Liturgy is doing with your children. Don’t we just love seeing those little kids at Mass; I see all those "little Catholics" learning about Jesus during Sunday Mass. Join a group to match your interest. Maybe the InBetweeners, the Grownups or the Sociables are for you? We have something for all ages. Join one of our choirs; depending what Mass you regularly attend. Do you like to pray in a group; come to daily Mass, join a Renew group or come to the Stations of the Cross and the Soup Suppers during the Fridays of Lent.

Come spend an hour or two with others. Come join us in our Faith, our love of God and each other. Come share your religion with someone else; there’s plenty to go around. St. Robert’s is a great community because of you, each and every one of you. You are what makes St. Robert’s what it is, a great community of Faith. God Bless.

MASS MUSINGS

"Be An Active Listener"

Why so much hype about listening during Mass? I would bet you know as well as I: "In the readings, explained by the homily, God is speaking to his people, opening up to them the mystery of redemption and salvation, and nourishing their spirit; Christ is present to the faithful through his own word." As the General Instruction to the Roman Missal has just told us, SOMEONE IMPORTANT IS SPEAKING TO US ABOUT IMPORTANT STUFF! - Pat Kelly

ANNOINTING MASS

At the Noon Mass this Sunday, the Sacrament of the Sick will be celebrated. All who are seriously ill in body, mind or spirit and all who are experiencing the affects of the aging process are invited to come before the priest as he lays hands on them. The congregation will pray silently for their recovery, as the priest anoints each with oil. The grace from this Sacrament brings us faith, trust and hope.

EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

Jesus said to His friends during His Agony in the Garden: "Could you not watch for one hour with Me?" We have the opportunity to spend an hour with Jesus following the 8:30 AM Mass on Saturday, March 6th, in adoration before Him in His Eucharistic presence.

Pray for the 4th grade students at St. Roberts School and School of Religious Education. They will celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time on Sat. March 6th, at 10:00 a.m. and 12 Noon.
