Dear Parishioners:

There are times in a Parish when someone does an exceptional job - something "beyond the call of duty." This week I want to thank Patricia Estelita and those who worked with her for all their effort in making the Parish Picnic such a great success. Well over 400 people attended had a great time renewing old friendships, eating well prepared hot dogs , hamburgars and chili, and swimming in the Park pool. Thank you, Trish. The Parish bears the cost of the picnic as one way to say thanks to all of you who do so much all year to make our Parish special. THANK YOU!

Our Parish school is full again (with a waiting list for most classes). I always feel dreadful when we cannot accept another child. But, in accordance with the guidelines of the Archdiocese, we try to maintain a maximum of 35 in a class.Thank you to all who helped prepare the school building for the new school year - especially Joe Lucchese for all his work in redoing the locker area of most of the classrooms. Also, thanks to funds from the Parish Festival, we have been able to repaint the school bathrooms and, when they arrive, put up new dividers between the toilets.

Sincerely,
Father Vincent Ring

RENEW 2000
PRAYER FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM

This week let us pray - Gracious God, as we celebrate the 2000 years since the birth of Jesus...create us anew.

RENEW 2000...COME AND SEE

How might we rediscover God in our lives? Like the saints and mystics, we do not discover God so much by shutting ourselves away or merely reading about how to become holy. Rather we find God in our everyday lives, in our everyday experiences. If you would like to be trained as a facilitator or open up your home for the 6 week meetings, please call the Rectory Office at 589-2800. Join RENEW in the Fall.

RENEW 2000 EVENING OF REFLECTION

Thursday, Sept. 10th at 7p.m. This will be an evening of beautiful prayer, faith sharing, intercession, food and fun to begin preparation for the Great Jubilee in the year 2000. Plan to attend!! For questions call Pat Kelly at 589-2800.

AIDS CLINIC LUNCH

The Aids Clinic is moving. For the next few months they will have no facilites for serving lunch. They reluctantly ask St. Robert’s not to prepare any hot meals during this time. They would, however, like us to continue to provide finger food, cookies, fruit and our now famous brown bag sandwiches prepared by our teenagers. Since they have no place to store anything, please limit the quantity of each. Continued thanks to every one.

Next Lunch is Wed., Sept. 9th
