PARISH BULLETIN |
Dear Parishioners: This week Sister Columba Galvin returns to Ireland to take up a new ministry of retreat work and, after many years of service in the United States, to be close to her family. Sister has served St. Roberts well for the past eight years as Principal of our school and then as Pastoral Associate. She helped all of us grow in our Faith. I know that Sister will continue to remember us in her prayers and she would appreciate your prayers for her in her new assignment. I am happy to announce that Mr. Patrick Kelly is joining our Parish staff as coordinator of Liturgical Ministries. Pat is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a major in music. He has done graduate work at St. Patricks Seminary and at Stanford University. He has worked in various liturgical and youth ministry positions at St. Anthonys and St. Johns Parishes in San Francisco and at All Souls Parish in South San Francisco. Welcome to St Roberts, Patrick. Our Parish is also blessed by Mr. Kevin Carey taking on a full-time position in the Parish. Kevin is a graduate of our school, of Serra and of the University of San Francisco. He will be a full time teacher in the school (for the past few years, he has taught Spanish on a part time basis) and he will work on our Youth Ministry Team. I want to thank the Parish Council for their encouragement and support in this decision to make a major commitment to Liturgical ministry and to the youth of our Parish. Work on the back wall of the Sanctuary will begin (hopefully) on July 6th. The project will take approximately six weeks. Several of the windows have already been "spoken for" (a donaton of $2,500 is requested) but a few are available if you are interested. It is also possible to make a donation in memory of a loved one for the construction project itself - this donation can be any amount. Other major projects this summer is the sealing of asphalt of the parking lot (this will help increase the longevity of the tar), remodeling of the childrens bathrooms at the school (long overdue), and the construction of a new entrance to the former chapel at the convent so that this meeting area can be more assessable without interfering with the privacy of the sisters. Thank you for your generosity that makes these projects possible. As we begin a new fiscal year, I would ask you to please reconsider your weekly donation to the Parish and see if you can make a greater sacrifice to keep up the good work of the Parish. In the near future, a full financial statement of the past fiscal year will be made available to you. Sincerely, |

OUR BISHOPS SPEAK ON OUR CALL TO GLOBAL SOLIDARITY |
Catholic communities of faith should measure their prayer, education, and action by how they serve the life, dignity, and rights of the human person at home and abroad. A parishs catholicity is illustrated in its willingness to go beyond its own boundaries to extend the Gospel, serve those in need, and work for global justice and peace. This is not a work for a few agencies or one parish committee, but for every believer and every local community of faith. |
SANCTUARY WINDOWS |
If you would like to have a window dedicated in memory of someone you love, please contact Fr. Ring. We are asking $2,500 as a donation for each window. If you would like to make a donation of any amount of $100 or more toward the construction of the new wall in memory of someone or in thanksgiving for Gods blessing to your family, please send a check to the Parish specifying the name to be listed on the memorial plaque that will be placed on the side wall of the Sanctuary. |

RENEW
2000 |
Prayer and faith sharing are the heart of RENEW 2000. Faith sharing is very simple sharing about how God is working in our lives and listening to others as they share how God is working in their lives. We do this by reflecting on the word of God and on the experiences of our lives. We know that our Christian faith was never meant to be lived in isolation. Be sure to sign up for RENEW 2000 in the Fall. Watch for details! |
