Dear Parishioners,

The Parish golf tournament sponsored by the Men’s Club was a great success. Thank you to all who worked so hard to make it possible. The dinner after the tournament was the best ever.

First Communion for 130 children takes place this Saturday and next Saturday. Congratulations to the children and thank you to their teachers in the school and in the Religious Education Program who have worked so hard to help the parents prepare their children for this important step in their Christian life. So often we can forget that on the day of a child’s baptism the parents promise to do all within their power to pass the Faith on to the child.

We are getting close to fulfilling our assessment for the Annual Appeal of the Archbishop ($69,000). Any money we receive above the assessment will be returned to the Parish. We will use it to help with the renovation of the wall in the sanctuary. All those who have not yet contributed should receive a letter from me this weekend asking you to join the four hundred plus families who have already given. If you are not on the Parish mailing list, please phone the Parish Office for information about the Appeal.

AIDS CLINIC LUNCH

On Wed., May 13th, it’s St. Robert’s turn to provide lunch for the County AIDS Clinic. Please bring an entree, salad, side dish or dessert to the bench in the Little Church vestibule by 9:00 a.m. for pickup and delivery to the clinic. Hot dishes should be delivered cold with instructions for reheating. Next month’s lunch is on June 10th. Many thanks!

    

IN-BETWEENERS MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

This weekend before and after all Masses there will be members of the In-Betweeners available to enroll those interested in becoming members of the In-Betweeners. For information about The In-Betweeners or call George Lynch at or Trish Cvetovac.

We pray for the ill: Blake Interdonato, IIlar Schoenstein, Don Landers, Tony Coogan, Koret Koelman, Terry McLeod, Adela Florez, Ana Cosgaya, Peter Capodonicco, Rosemary McHale, Arthur Candia, Margarita Velez, and Sandra Dill.

We pray for the repose of the souls of Larry Grech, father of Carmen Huddleston’s; and Georgia Elkington and Mrs. Lena Rosso. We offer our sympathy to their families.

For the children who come to the Lord’s Table for the first time, for their parents and teachers. May they be filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.

We pray...That the Holy Spirit will grant every mother the grace she needs to live out this most holy calling.
    

WOMEN'S GUILD INSTALLATION

The past presidents of the St. Robert’s Women’s Guild invite all women of the parish to attend the annual Installation Dinner to be held TOMORROW, Monday, May 11th in Hennessy Hall. No host cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7:00 p.m. and festivities to follow dinner. Please plan to attend our celebration of incoming and outgoing officers. Cost of dinner is $10 and reservations may be made with Ellen Voight or Barbara Tufo.
    

RETROUVAILLE,
a program for couples in troubled marriages

is starting another session on June 12-14 1998 at the Vallombrosa Retreat Center. A team of three couples and a Catholic priest present the weekend and the six follow-up sessions over the next 90 days; all couples who have mentally or physically packed their bags are welcome. Don’t let your marriage and family slip away without giving this program a chance. Thousands of couples have been able to rediscover and return to the sacred covenant and sacramental promise and have restored the family.
