Dear Parishioners,

There could be no finer way to prepare for Christmas than to participate in a communal celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) this Monday evening at 7:30 PM in the Church. By means of Scripture and prayer, we will ask God’s forgiveness for our sins and, by our presence together, show our willingness to work toward peace and unity in our Catholic family. For those who wish, there will be individual "confession" at the end of the communal celebration.

As you know a few of the Christmas Masses are "standing room" only - especially the 4:30 PM on Christmas Eve and the Midnight Mass. I recommend that, if you want to come to one of these Masses, you come early. I am happy to say that Archbishop John R. Quinn will be the celebrant of the 10:30 AM Mass on Christmas day. This will be a very special occasion for our Parish so I hope that you will be able to be present.

We all owe thanks to the many people who have made our Advent Season so special. Their hard work in preparing the Liturgies, the music and the Church environment has made Advent a true time of preparation for the Birth of Christ. The new purple vestments that have been used the past few Sundays were purchased in memory of the deceased we were asked to pray for on All Soul’s Day - with the money donated at that time we were also able to purchase a new set of Green vestments. Thank you.

I would ask all to be as generous as possible on Christmas Day. I make a special appeal to those who do not use the Sunday envelopes and those who come to Church infrequently. The support of the Parish ministries and property should be shared by all who call themselves Parishioners of St. Robert’s.

Sincerely,

Fr. Ring

AS A PARISH COMMUNITY

We welcome into the family of God Anika Jane Simbulan who was baptized in Christ.

We pray for the ill: Koret Koelman, Terry McLeod, Helen Miller, Cyndy Smerdel, Adela Florez, Ana Cosgaya, Tony Coogan, Bill Wilson, Peter Capodonicco, Rosemary McHale, Arthur Candia, and Margarita Velez.

We pray for the repose of the soul of Mike Steim, father of Mary Alvergue, and offer our sympathy to his family.

We pray for all women who have been called to be mothers. For those awaiting the birth of their child. May they be filled with the radiant faith of Mary and of Elizabeth.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY

We received a letter from the Propagation of the Faith thanking you "for the generous gift of $3,041.31 for the support of the Church’s missionary work. Your people have truly answered our Lord’s call to ‘go make disciples of all nations’(Matthew 28.19)".

With your Thanksgiving Offering, we were able to give $1,075 to our St. Vincent de Paul, $1,000 to the Samaritan House, and $200 to the Catholic Worker in San Bruno.

FILAM GROUP

Once again FilAm carollers have brought cheer by singing carols at parishioners homes, convalescent homes and care homes, ending Monday, Dec. 22. This annual fund raising drive is for the benefit of St. Robert’s Church. For more information call Josie Mercado or Manny Ortiz.
