This question is for YOU.

"If it does not please you to serve the LORD, decide today whom you will serve... As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." (words of the prophet Joshua).

We currently hear many candidates and propositions competing for our attention as election time approaches in our country.

Joshua’s words are meant for us. Today. Every day. In all of our words and actions, we are voting. Either we will serve the LORD, or ourselves, or some idol that we give more attention and honor to than God. "Decide today whom you will serve."

Jesus asks Peter, "Do you also want to leave?" and Peter answers for all of us, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of everlasting life." We want to serve the LORD!

ARCHDIOCESAN JUBILEE MASS 2000

The Archdiocesan Jubilee Mass is at Pac Bell Park on Saturday, October 28. Admission is by ticket only, but the tickets are free! Be sure to sign up as soon as possible so that we can request tickets for each of you. We are planning to take the Caltrain, but we also have a limited number (97) of seats available on buses for those who would have difficulty taking the train. Each parish will order T-shirts of differing colors and bring a special banner. (Our color is Kelly Green.) The cost of the T-shirt is $5. We need to turn in our count soon, so order yours right away! St. Robert’s parishioners will be seated in the section behind home plate. Doors open at 12 Noon, a Pre-Liturgy Celebration will begin at 1:30, and the Mass will begin at 3:00pm. (This Mass will fulfill your Sunday obligation.)

The Ballpark will be crowded with thousands of Catholics from every corner of our archdiocese, sisters, brothers, priests, bishops, and two cardinals.

This Eucharistic celebration, in this Jubilee Year, will be a tremendous sign of God’s presence, uniting us all in a joyous celebration of faith!

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING AN ALTAR SERVER???

Anyone from 7th grade and beyond interested in becoming an Altar Server is invited to join this ministry. All who served last year will receive a new application during early September. New applicants can call Gene or Anna May for further information and training dates.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Have you ever considered that spending time with Jesus before Him in His Blessed Sacrament is a divine appointment...that He is personally waiting to meet with you there? Jesus knows you inside and out — past, present and future. He wants to fill your emptiness with His love. In Jesus, you can confide; open your heart to Him; relax with Him; share with Him; find peace, contentment and satisfaction. Jesus is the only one who totally knows and understands you. Mark your appointment calendar for Saturday, September 2nd. Following the 8:30 AM Mass and continuing till 10 AM, we will celebrate Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Jesus says to you, "Come with Me to a quiet place and get some rest".

BIBLE STUDY

Classes will begin on Sept. 13th at 7:30 p.m. and will be held in the Convent Chapel. Please see next week’s bulletin for more information.
