Pentecost Sunday

Dear Parishioners,

During the past ten years, our parish has accomplished many things. We have increased participations in our Liturgies (with greatest improvement in our music). We have continued to improve our mission to evangelize by means of our school, our religion program for children in public schools and our adult education programs. Our buildings have been maintained and beautified. The list could go on and on.

I believe it is now time for us to look to the future. In my opinion, it is imperative that we build an Education Center to provide for present and future needs of our school, religious education and youth programs. At the same time, we can look into the possibility of constructing a Parish Center, which would provide for social and recreational needs of the Parish.

After consulting with the Finance Committee and the Parish Council, I have asked the architect, who designed the sanctuary of the Church, to do preliminary drawings and consult with engineers. They have studied the area to the east of the school (the middle yard) to see if building in that location is possible.

I have established a committee to look into the projected cost of the Educational Center and the Parish Center and to study ways of financing the project. Only after these studies have been completed and consultations held with you, through parish meetings, will any decision be made.

As information becomes available, I will give it to you.

Sincerely,
Father Ring

JUBILEE BLESSINGS THIS WEEK TO:
INTERFAITH COALITIONS

IN OUR HOUSE

Today, on this feast of Pentecost, we celebrate the wonderful mystery of God’s Spirit having been given to each of us as Christian disciples and to all of us together as Church. God’s Spirit has been given to us for our own well-being, life, and holiness and for the well-being of others—to love others with Christ’s love so that they too will be drawn, in love, to God. It is in this love that we must celebrate Mass. In love we understand what it means to see Eucharist both as an opportunity and as a responsibility. In love we understand that Eucharist can transform both our Church and our selves and thus transform the world. - Pat Kelly
