Dear Parishioners,

Thanks to the many parishioners who have helped in recent weeks to improve the physical plant of our Church. The new fan in the Parish hall, the coffee center, electrical outlets, and storage area for tables in the vestibule of the Church, the restaining of the walls around the back of the Church and in the Chapel, the stretching of the Church rugs, the new storage cabinet for music in the choir area have all been done by parishioners. I know you join me in saying thank you. As our parish grows and, at the same time our buildings grow older, we need men and women who are willing to give of their talents to maintain our buildings. Please contact the Parish Office or me directly if you are willing to help in any way. We need people who can fix things and improve things!

This is especially important to me in that the Archbishop has given me permission to take a sabbatical of six months beginning in August. After thirty-six years as a priest and ten years as your pastor, I need a time to renew my spiritual life as well as my physical and mental well being. I will give you more information in the weeks ahead. I will go knowing that the Parish is completely alive that you will continue in your efforts to live out your Catholic lives in the tradition of our Faith.

Sincerely,
Father Ring

As we close another RCIA season, I would like to thank all who helped our adults in the preparation for their Easter Sacraments. Special thanks to Donna McGuigan, Rita Tullius, Mary Bourne, Tom Rowan and Victoria Sciacqua for being team members. Thanks to all our guest speakers. And a special thanks to the people of St. Robert’s for your on-going prayers and support.

Many parishioners have no idea of how important a role they play in bringing adults to their sacraments. Almost every member of the RCIA class told me how welcoming St. Robert’s parish is and was for them. For whatever reason, at different stages of their life people feel the need and desire to complete their full initiation in the Faith. In many cases, people chose the Catholic faith, and, in particular, St. Robert’s parish because of the welcoming attitude of our parishioners. We should all feel proud of the good work we are doing.

Now is a good time to plant the seed for next year’s class. If you know of anyone considering becoming Catholic, or any baptized adult wishing to receive first Eucharist or Confirmation, please have them contact the parish office. Next year’s classes will begin in mid-September.

Again, thanks to everyone for another very successful year.

Deacon Duffey

JUBILEE BLESSINGS THIS WEEK TO:
JOURNALISTS AND MEDIA WORKERS

IN OUR HOUSE

As members of the Church gathered for worship, each and all of us have RESPONSIBILITIES and OPPORTUNITIES to make the celebration of Mass a life-giving encounter with Christ. The bishops of Vatican II said we as baptized Catholics all have RIGHTS and DUTIES in the liturgy. The first duty and right we all have is to be present for the liturgy. Let’s make it a good habit of ours to come at least a couple of minutes early for Mass. We need to show each other that we value the opportunity to gather freely for Mass. - Pat Kelly

We welcome into the family of God: Dominique Hauscarriague, Jason Madeloso, Jordan Maxion-Conway, Rio-Morgan Patrimonio-Raval, Michelle Rodriguez & Mario Vargas, who were baptized in Christ.

We pray for the ill: Marlyn Arancibia, Bastiaan Blumenthal, Marcia Bourne, Ann Burns, Sister Cabrini, Arthur Candia, Peter Capodonicco, Theresa Cook, Ana Cosgaya, Imelda Daly, William & Sandra Dill, Adela Florez, Rita Gomez, Randall Guerro, Denise Hawald, Koret Koelman, Muriel Krause, Marky, Rosemary McHale, Jeanne McHugh, Terry McLeod, Walter Moniz, Richard Quintana, Cyndy Smerdel, Ann Steinerd, Margarita Velez, Elsie Grech & Don Vickery.

As a Parish Community, We Pray
For the Body of Christ...May each of us answer His call to bring good news of God’s forgiveness and love to the ends of the earth.

Our sincere sympathy to the family of
Madeline Vitorelo
who recently passed away.
