Dear Parishioners,

Elections will be held after all Masses next weekend for new members of the Parish Council and the School Board. These two advisory Boards are extremely important in setting priorities for the Parish and the School. During the past years, I have depended greatly upon the advice given by these two groups. Please take the time to read the information about the candidates which is posted in the vestibule of the Church.

Thank you to all the people who made the golf tournament and dinner such a great success. My team came up short so more practice is needed. Like the Fashion Show and Festival, the tournament provides not only financial help for the parish, but provides the much needed opportunity for us to come to know each other as a Christian community. For those of you who are new to the Parish or those who have not participated in the past, let the Parish office know if you would like to become a part of any of these events in the coming year.

Congratulations to Renee Duffey, the wife of our Parish Deacon, upon receiving a Doctorate in Psychology from the Graduate Theological Foundation.

Catholic San Francisco, the weekly newspaper of the Archdiocese recently requested financial help. For those who contribute to the Annual Appeal, please remember that your donation to the Appeal already helps support the newspaper.

The Fashion Show raised over $23,000. Congratulations and thank you to all who made it possible.

Sincerely,
Father Ring

MOTHER CHURCH

It’s always sad news to hear that some newborn animal at the zoo died because its mother did not know how to take care of it. Sometimes, new mothers need to be taught what to do for their babies. As a church community, we have some "newborns" in our midst! All of the adults, young adults, and children who have recently celebrated baptism, confirmation, and/or first holy communion are "newborns," in a way, especially Emi Caruso, Joy Goodwin, Louis Loh, Jacqui Quilici, and David Slotnick, adults who have been baptized. Their experience of the sacraments needs to be nurtured, and our community should embrace them. If you see someone who you know has recently celebrated one of the initiation sacraments, take a minute to ask them how things are going. They’ll be glad you did.

Happy Mother’s Day, St. Robert Church!

Pat Kelly

Eucharistic Prayer IV: "Lord, look upon this sacrifice which you have given to your Church; and by your Holy Spirit, gather all who share this one bread and one cup into the one body of Christ, a living sacrifice of praise." - Pat Kelly
