| Dear Parishioners, In the mail this past week, you received information concerning the Annual Appeal of the Archdiocese. We are called upon to raise $69,000 to help the Archdiocese in the many programs that support our Parish and fund programs that local parishes cannot do on their own. My hope and prayer is that every family in the parish will make a financial sacrifice to help us reach our assessment. If we go over the amount, the money is returned to us. If we do not reach the goal, we have to take money out of our regular parish budget which will hurt our local programs. Please be generous. Over the next few weeks I will list programs that benefit from your generosity. In regard to clergy support, the Annual Appeal helps with Seminarian tuition, the priests’ retirement fund, on-going clergy education, vocation promotion, the permanent diaconate and chaplains for hospitals, etc. All of these programs are essential if we are to grow as Church. Thank you to all the parents of the seventh grade who attended a meeting to prepare for our Parish Festival. Your dedication will make the last weekend in September a tremendous success. Thank you to Sister Mary and her Confirmation preparation team who ran a Retreat for the 84 young men and women who are preparing for the sacrament. It was a great day for all of them. Make sure you plan to attend the Parish Mission the week of February 22nd. Ask your family and friends to join us for this week of spiritual renewal. Sincerely, |
